Glow sticks contain 2 non-toxic liquid parts, Part A and Part B. These 2 liquid parts are separated by a tiny glass ampoule that floats in the sealed outer plastic tube of the glow stick. When you activate a glow stick by slightly bending the outer tube, you are "cracking" the glass ampoule inside that mixes both liquid parts together that in turn creates a reaction called "chemiluminescence". This reaction is very safe and does not create any heat, flames or sparks.

Our glow products are non-toxic, non-flammable, lead free and meet ASTM F963-03, EN71 and AS/NZS ISO 8124 safety standards.

Once a glow product is bent to activate it, it is not designed to be repeatedly bent again and again as some young children may do. This can cause the outer plastic tube in some cases to leak. Therefore we always recommend adult supervision when being used by young children. Glow products are not recommended for use by children under 3 years of age due to choking hazard.

This varies a lot depending on the product. Small items average between 4-12 hours while some larger premium glow sticks will glow 12-24 hours or more. Please see the individual product page for more product specific information.

Temperature can be factor that determines glow time and even brightness as well. Generally the warmer the product is, the brighter it will glow but its glow time will be reduced slightly. In cold temperatures you may see a slightly reduced brightness but its glow time will be longer.
